Oh noes! My good friend tagged me, and now I must tell eight interesting things about me....I'm not that interesting, unfortunately, but if worse comes to worse, I can make up some pretty cool facts about me! lol

1) Because of my passion for WWII, which has lasted the entirety of my life thusfar, as a little girl I was not scared of the dark, or of monsters under the bed, nor was I afraid of stepping on sidewalk cracks. Rather, I was terrified of snipers in the buildings next door, and stepping on land mines.

2. I have not broken any bones, nor have I had any surguries in my life.

3. When I took the eHarmony personality questionaire (the 30-min one) to review my matches for free, the page came up and said I did not fall within any known personality profiles/perameters, so they couldn't match me with anyone. I'm not kidding!

4. I went hang-gliding (sp?) with my uncle out in Seattle when I was seven, and I hit a top height of over 7,000 feet because a heat thermal caught me.

5. On a missionary trip overseas in Scotland in 2003, I talked to the bus-driver during the 5 hour drive from the Manchester Airport to Port Glasgow. We exchanged addresses, and we've been great friends/pen-pals ever since.

6. My great-grandfather was an outlaw during the depression. He was part of a gang that stole the liquor from bandits who had stolen it from the FBI trains. He got into many gunfights, and was shot a grand-total of 6 times throughout his life.

7. My other great-grandfather (on the other side of my family) founded Best Lock Inc., Heritage Christian Schools, and designed over 4,000 inventions, some of which he sold to the military during WWII. He also ran for president as a dark horse candidate.

8. In all my eighteen years, I have never once been on a date, or been kissed by a guy. I have no idea why, either. Does it have something to do with the fact that I was homeschooled up until High School and have no social skills when it comes to kids my own age?


All right, I think that about covers it. I don't think I can come up with eight other people to tag, but here's a couple:

So it's that time of year again where birds sing, flowers bloom, and PDAs get more and more prominent in the school hallways. Yes, spring is in the air, and that means prom. Unfortunately, no one has asked me. So I took the fate of my date into my own hands and asked a cute guy in my class if he'd go with me...I even offered to go Dutch. But he turned me down! He wasn't even going with a girlfriend. He said that he was saving money.

It seems that I will not have the joy of going to my school's junior/senior prom this year. I realize that there's always next year, but I didn't want to go simply for the "romance" or the food or the dancing. It's being held at a very old, and very majestic cathedral which I've toured before. The building is spectacular, and the prom's theme is James Bond - The World is Not Enough. So cool. THAT'S why I wanted to go so badly. But the fates have worked against me. Oh well.

Well, my mom has offered to take me anywhere in the US for a trip! Because she and her new hubbie took a long cruise to the southern Caribbean without me, she seems to feel guilty for leaving me at the house all alone for eight days. So to prove that she still loves me, she wants to take me anywhere I choose.

Hmmm....decisions decisions. I honestly don't know where to go. Technically Hawaii is part of the US, but I doubt she'll agree when there's that amount of money on the line. As will probably be the case with Alaska.

This is a very rare opportunity I have, and I don't want to waste it on some dumb trip to Mackinack Island or Gatlinburg.

I don't care much for Florida (the humidity is killer...as are the crocodiles), and the Grand Canyon is too hot and dry.

I'm thinking along the lines of California, Montana, or Colorado. I've never been to Montana or Colorado, and I like the terrain being mountainous...although it is extremely cold. That's why I'm also considering California. Nice climate, nice beaches, but not much to do if I don't want to go to Disneyland or Seaworld. I know most people will scream after reading that last bit. Let me rephrase: There's not much to do that I would enjoy. It's horridly expensive, too.

I love horseback riding, so perhaps I should simply go to Texas or some other horse-riding state. We could stay at a ranch or lodge. Or perhaps we could just take long trial rides that last a week or so. That would be fun. I've also always wanted to go for a long hike on the Appalachian Trail. But that's a little too rugged for my taste.

Oh the inhumanity of these decisions! What ever shall I do?

Throughout my short life, I've gone through different phazes. And yes, when I was young, there was no accounting for my female taste in men. A lot of people, both men and women were stunned when they learned that my first crush was on Colonel Klink from Hogan's Heroes. "OMG that ugly bald dude with the riding crop?!?!" is usually their first response. Yes, when I was ten, he was my idol. But once I turned eleven, I graduated to crushing on Peter Newkirk of the same show...Richard Dawson by his real name. And even now I say that when he played Newkirk he was SOOOOO HAWTT!! Erm.. But I went through a year or two of thinking and fantasizing only of him, and now I'm out of it. Then I started going for the "geeky intelligent" look, (i.e. people with glasses and nice eyes) and I found it in Roy Shidner who played the sheriff on Stephen Speilberg's "Jaws". Yes, I know what you're thinking...HIM??? But I was thirteen. By fourteen, I had grown past him, and was then stuck on Greg Proops and Ryan Styles from the show "Whose Line is it, Anyway?".

Ladies and gentlemen, although I am still a devout Snape fan, my new crush for the year which I have yet to grow out of: (drum roll please....) Commodore Norrington!!

Yes, I have bypassed the girly boy Will Turner, and overlooked the drunken Jack Sparrow, and have afixed myself upon the devilishly dashing and charmingly chivalrous James T. Norrington, ex-commodore. I fell in love with him in the first movie (the one where he alegedly looks like an ice-cream cone), because I love men in uniform, and men with principles....and a sexy hat. His voice is shexxier than even Alan Rickman's, and he is a man of honor. I just hope that he isn't turned bad by the writers of Potc 3 !! He's too noble to turn bad, and he's FAAAR too better a person for Elizabeth...I must admit since I saw Dead Man's Chest, I've really detested her. What a strumpet! How dare she lie and break her vow to Norry, breaking his heart in the process, and then turn around and start cheating on Will?? Seriously, even though she was supposedly doing that in order to chain Jack, she had no right in making out with him....

Anyway, poor Norry. I've also joined a fabulous fan club for all people like me who have an unhealthy obsession about our favorite ex-commodore. The club is CommodoreNorry, right here on deviantART! Here's the link: [link]
